Sounds of the Seventies

Saturday 24th February 2024  - 10:00am -  4:30pm

The Spire, High Street, Poole

Spend a day singing as part of a massed choir as you workshop and perform some of the greatest hits from The Seventies. From show tunes to chart-topping smash hits, there's something for every voice. You don't need to be in a choir, or an existing member of P&P or InSpire Daytime Voices to join us, just be keen to sing. No matter if you have lots of experience or just a little, the day will be suitable for all.

Thursday 21st - Saturday 23rd March 2024

The Barrington Theatre, Ferndown

The P&P Players present Ira Levin’s classic comedic thriller; Deathtrap. A washed-up playwright finds a chance to rise to the top once more, a shot he’d be willing to kill for.

Sidney Bruhl hasn’t written a hit play for 18 years when he receives a script from a former student, Clifford Anderson, that’s a guaranteed success. His wife, Myra, suggests the two men could collaborate; Sidney jokes that it’d be just as easy to murder the young man and steal the script for his own. When Clifford arrives later that evening, no one--not even the visiting psychic--could predict where the dark events of the night will go. Who is innocent? Who only seems that way? Deathtrap is a sharply funny play full of twists and turns that keep an audience sure to keep you on the edge of your seats. Is anyone really safe when a man sees a clean shot at success?

Performances at The Barrington Theatre, Ferndown on Thursday 21st & Friday 22nd March 7:30pm with a Matinee performance on Saturday 23rd March at 2:30pm.

Daytime Voices 2023

Established as Parkstone Vocal and Instrumental Society in 1919, P&P’s Musical Theatre Society has grown to become one of the best known musical theatre companies in the Bournemouth & Poole area.
They have performed a variety of shows from Oliver, to 42nd Street, Sweeney Todd, to Jesus Christ Superstar as well as their famous Autumn Concerts & smaller cabaret performances across the region.

The Players was set up in 2005 for members who enjoy performing straight plays.
The Players have had huge success with  plays such as RebeccaSteel Magnolias and A Bunch of Amateurs as well as our regular Summer Cocktails and One Act Plays series, even performing a show penned by one of their own members; Changing Fortunes.

P&P’s resident choir The Singers was founded in 1998, originally for members of the Musicals section who wanted to sing (but not to dance!) They have since become well-renowned for their precision, close harmonies and eclectic programmes.

Under the musical direction of Jane McDouall, The Singers perform two main concerts each year; in July & December, and often join with other sections of P&P to perform at
a variety of other events throughout the year.
