It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

What an amazing show week we had...a complete sell out for Elf...wow!!! A huge congratulations to everyone involved, it was such a happy, uplifting show for cast, production team and audiences alike...just what we all needed.

To continue the Christmas spirit going we have two final Christmas performances to finish the year. We have seen the latest updates to COVID-19 guidelines and have planned carefully to make sure we can all celebrate together safely.

Covid-19 Procedures for both concerts:

To make sure our audiences and our performers are safe we have put into place some Covid-19 policies and are limiting audience numbers to allow for some social distancing. After recent government update these have been expanded to include the following:

  • We ask audience members to wear masks whilst inside the event (unless exempt).

  • Please also take a lateral flow test before attending (wherever possible). These are not compulsory but we want to take all precautions to keep all attendees and performers safe.

  • P&P may ask for your contact details for test and trace purposes (if you book online we will already have these details). Please be assured, all information provided to P&P will remain completely confidential and will only be shared with NHS test and trace if absolutely necessary and all details given to us will be removed 21 days following each concert as per all guidance.

InSpire Daytime Voices Returns...

Our community choir InSpire Daytime Voices started again this September!

The last 18 months have been challenging, but the pandemic proved how music brings people together in the most amazing ways.

Embracing technology, our fab Musical Director Jane (and husband Chris) spent many, many hours keeping spirits up and members in good voice with weekly YouTube rehearsals, a socially distanced 'Virtual Carol Concert', and Chairman Clare even opened her garden for outdoor rehearsals once we were allowed to gather in person again. Some days it was literally a case of Singin' In The Rain (with our amazing accompanist Corrine taking shelter in the summerhouse), but thankfully we have been able to return to our more conventional rehearsal venue, The Spire, and are pleased to be welcoming new members once again.

- After Christmas term will start again on Tuesday 11th January 2022.

PLEASE NOTE

We have the following Covid-19 policies in place;

  • Please bring a face mask and wear when in communal areas of The Spire building,

  • Please take a rapid Lateral Flow Test on the day of rehearsal before attending for the safety of all.

  • Rehearsals are slightly shorter than usual, running from 10:30am-11:45 am as we aren't yet able to have our usual tea break.

The Players was set up in 2005 for members who enjoy performing (and audiences who enjoy watching) straight plays.

They have had huge success with

plays such as Rebecca, Steel Magnolias and A Bunch of Amateurs as well as our regular Summer Cocktails and Evening of One Act Plays, and even performing a show penned by one of their own members; Changing Fortunes.

P&P’s resident choir The Singers was founded in 1998, originally for members of the Musicals section who wanted to sing but not to dance.

They have since become well-renowned for their precision, close harmonies and eclectic programmes.

Under the musical direction of Jane McDouall, The Singers perform at a variety of venues and events across Dorset.

"When it comes to song and dance spectaculars there is no-one to beat this company... The staging, costumes and performance
really were as good as it gets..."
