Elf, the Musical Auditions!
The P&P Elves have been busy behind the scenes, packing our sleighs, and preparing to head to the North Pole (or is that North Poole?!) for our upcoming "𝗘𝗹𝗳, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹" at Lighthouse, Poole from 24th-27th November 2021. We're still under Covid restrictions, so you must get in touch before you can attend. With some great character roles to be cast, we're excited to be getting back on stage after a very long 18 months! So, if you fancy joining our us, get in touch with our Membership Secretary, Sophie on email@example.com or drop us a message on our Facebook page.
Rehearsals are beginning to resume for all sections!
Our Players and Singers are working hard on repertoire for a pared-down but no less delicious 'Summer Cocktail' at the Spire on Thursday22nd and Friday 23rd July. Details of ticket availability will be online in the next week or two.
MTS are making preparations for Elf, The Musical, with auditions in July and we plan to have our InSpire Daytime Voices back rehearsing from September. If you want to join us, contact our membership secretary on firstname.lastname@example.org
Michael Hobbs Auditions: Elf, the Musical!
P&P are holding auditions for the role of Michael Hobbs in 'Elf the Musical'. We will also be casting an understudy for the role. Gender: Male. Playing age: 12-15. Vocal range: D5 - F3
It is essential he has an unbroken voice.
The understudy will have the opportunity to perform in the 11am performances on both Friday 26th November and Saturday 27th November. The Friday performance is not for public sale as it is a 'Schools Performance'. Saturday 27th November - 11am matinee performance is open to the public so understudies will definitely have a performance for family and friends.
Character Profile: Michael Hobbs is the smarter-than-average, quick witted son of Walter and Emily Hobbs. He quickly befriends his new brother, and does everything he can to make sure Buddy becomes a permanent part of the family.
Audition pieces and more details can be found here:
Auditions will take place on Tuesday 13th July. To register your child's interest, please complete this form and a member of the production team will be in touch with further details.
Established as Parkstone Vocal and Instrumental Society in 1919, P&P’s Musical Theatre Society has grown
to become one of the best known
musical theatre companies in the
Bournemouth and Poole area.
They have performed a variety of shows from Oliver, to 42nd Street, Sweeney Todd, to Jesus Christ Superstar as well
as their famous November Concerts
and smaller cabaret performances
across the region.
The Players was set up in 2005 for members who enjoy performing (and audiences who enjoy watching) straight plays.
They have had huge success with
plays such as Rebecca, Steel Magnolias and A Bunch of Amateurs as well as our regular Summer Cocktails and Evening of One Act Plays, and even performing a show penned by one of their own members; Changing Fortunes.
P&P’s resident choir The Singers was founded in 1998, originally for members of the Musicals section who wanted to sing but not to dance.
They have since become well-renowned for their precision, close harmonies and eclectic programmes.
Now under the musical direction of Jane McDouall, The Singers perform at a variety of venues and events across Dorset, and boasts a membership of more than 25 regular performers.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
"When it comes to song and dance spectaculars there is no-one to beat this company... The staging, costumes and performance
really were as good as it gets..."
— Linda Kirkman, Bournemouth Echo
